We’re swinging for the fences with our first choice – what could be better than staying on the beautiful garden island of Kauai, Hawaii, at a top-notch resort? In their own words: “Nestled on a secluded bluff overlooking the Majestic North Shore of Kauai, the Pacific Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see; where the clouds come alive and dance in concert with our endless sunrise and sunsets, interrupted only by the whales, turtles, and waves crashing against the shore..” Golf, beach, quiet seclusion, and a beautiful view that was featured as Bali Hai in the musical, South Pacific… paradise has got to be pretty darn close to this. If you own a timeshare with the Cliffs, you can always exchange your time through RCI in the event you want to try another timeshare.
If you’re not a fan of the Pacific Ocean and you’re looking for an Atlantic destination instead, Myrtle Beach is a pretty darn good option. This is a spectacular oceanfront Resort with beach access. Again, borrowing the description from their website, “Discover Westgate Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort, a beautiful, full-service resort overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and providing fun for all ages. Kick back and relax in spacious accommodations, splash into our lazy river and pool, and head down the street to explore famous attractions like the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.” A great choice for families looking for a wide variety of things to do, and if you’re already a Westgate owner, this may be a great choice for you!
There are tons of options out there for Golfers, but this Sheraton resort in Port St. Lucie FL is a solid choice. Letting them do the talking – “Located on Florida’s Treasure Coast, our vacation ownership resort is less than two miles from the renowned PGA Village. Minutes from world-class golf courses, our resort’s locale also allows for easy exploration of Florida’s natural beauty.” The golfing options are obvious, and the good news for families is that there are also lots of kid-friendly activities available to keep the whole family entertained while you’re out on the links. Just leave the family dog at home, as unfortunately, no pets are allowed. (A good thing to check with any resort prior to heading out for your vacation with Fido in tow…)
No recap of top summer destinations would be complete without a classic – Disney’s fantastic resort in Orlando. Obviously, tons of great reasons to go here for the kids, but keep in mind that the title of this resort includes “& Spa”, so there are PLENTY of great reasons for the adults in the family to enjoy this magical place… including some great dining options. And, yes, close to the park (you can even ride the monorail directly from the resort) and a host of other great Orlando attractions.
The last entry on our list of the best timeshares provides a whole different landscape – the desert! Located between Lake Pleasant and Phoenix, this stunning location provides some unique activities including horseback riding and trips to fascinating historical sites like Montezuma’s Castle, along with everything else you’d expect in Arizona, including some world-class golfing options. Plenty for the whole family to do, and a simply beautiful location.
The challenge, of course, is the availability of space at these locations over a holiday weekend. Timeshares, especially the best timeshares, often fill up during peak seasons, like summertime, when kids are on summer vacation and families are most likely to be trying to plan their vacations. Take heart, there are often options to find what you’re looking for through sites like RCI (noted above).
